About us:

The Academy of Learning Career College at the Bay/Queen Campus is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practicum Coordinator for the Business Administration program. The Practicum Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating and overseeing practicum placements for students enrolled in the Business Administration program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate practicums end to end.
  • Develop outreach strategies to effectively create and maintain relationships with prospective employers and funders throughout the community.
  • Develop and establish business contacts and network with potential employers to assist practicums.
  • Work with students to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals.
  • Maintain a database of employers and placement agencies.
  • Collect labor market information for students regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
  • Resume and Cover letter reviews.
  • Support students with mock interview sessions.
  • one-on-one sessions on portfolio development, career goals assessment, and social skills.

Experience /Skills

  • Keyboarding skills 40wpm with attention to accuracy
  • Have a proven track record in administration, multitasking and organization, and relationship building.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent English skills both verbal and in writing
  • Involvement working independently and in an administrative team.
  • Flexible - ability to adapt to changes.
  • Prospecting and closing skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to meet a predetermined quota of students being placed.

Education

  • A college diploma/degree is required.
  • Experience working in human resources, or as a career coach, in job placement is required.
  • Canadian work experience as a recruiter is preferred.
