Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tier 3 Applications Support & Integration Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, system integration, and technical support, with strong expertise in networking, infrastructure, and database optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for enterprise applications, ensuring system reliability, stability, and high availability.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex backend and infrastructure-related issues involving APIs, databases, and networking components.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and drive permanent resolutions.
  • Optimize SQL queries, database structures, and indexes for improved performance.
  • Manage and maintain network configurations, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls as they relate to backend applications.
  • Support and troubleshoot cloud-based deployments, including AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation scripts.
  • Ensure seamless system integrations between applications, mobile payment platforms, and telecom operator networks.
  • Implement security best practices, including vulnerability management, API security, and secure data handling.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy system enhancements and performance improvements.
  • Provide documentation and knowledge sharing for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development and system support.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and API development.
  • In-depth expertise in SQL databases (performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, replication, backup strategies).
  • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SSL/TLS, DNS) and troubleshooting network-related issues.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their networking components.
  • Solid understanding of Linux and Windows Server administration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Checkmk. ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Beneficial Skills (Nice to Have):

  • - Experience with Node.js for backend services.
  • - Knowledge of messaging queue technologies (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
  • - Understanding of load balancing, caching mechanisms, and CDN solutions.
  • - Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • - Experience with mobile payment integrations and telecom VAS platforms.

Added Advantages:

  • Previous experience in Mobile VAS and Mobile Aggregation in Africa.
  • Understanding of telecom and fintech integrations, including mobile payment solutions.
  • Experience working in high-availability, low-latency backend systems.
