Job Title: Senior Specialist – Cloud Security

Duration: 12 months

Location: Johannesburg

Brief Description

This role ensures secure adoption of cloud technologies by embedding security into architecture, operations, and delivery pipelines while driving continuous improvement of the organization's cloud security posture. You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting security reviews and Securing All Public Cloud assets and any systems hosted therein.
  • Ensuring All Cloud instances are regularly scanned for Security vulnerabilities, Insecure Configurations and all Public Cloud Systems are appropriately hardened.
  • Ensure comprehensive logging and monitoring coverage aligned to security requirements and risk appetite.
  • Maintenance and support of various Public Cloud cybersecurity systems/tools including but not limited to CSPM, CNAPP, Firewalls, WAF, IPS\IDS, Logging Solutions etc.
  • Lead and coordinate in the deployment and Assurance of AI Tools for Cloud Security
  • Act as the Security lead in the configuration, management and upgrade of any Cloud security systems or Technology systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex cloud security incidents and platform issues.
  • Ensure all new and existing systems/products/services comply with Company's security policies & standards and other industry best practices.
  • Design and implement cloud security architectures in alignment with best practices to protect cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security throughout the cloud development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Improvement of the Cloud security posture through initiatives, including but not limited to Cloud Security Baselines, cloud posture management, hardening etc.
  • Take lead on cloud security automation including IAC security, policy as code etc.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/information Technology or equivalent Technology-related degree
  • At least one certification in Cloud Security: preferably AZURE Cloud security
  • At least one professional Information Security Qualification e.g., CISSP/CISM/CISA/CCSK
  • Certifications in the use and administration of cloud security tools e.g., CSPM, CNAPP, EDRs, NSGs, DDIS, WAF, DevOps security etc.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and Terraform is highly valued for managing secure cloud environments.
  • Advance competencies experience in cloud native security technologies.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on Public Cloud Security experience e.g. security audits for Public Cloud Systems\security automations\deploying or managing Public Cloud Security systems e.tc
  • Working knowledge and experience in DevOps and Microservices technologies i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, containers, terraform Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Gitlab/GitHub
  • Experience in Identity & Access Management and data protection (encryption / key management)
  • Experience in Threat detection & incident response in cloud
  • Experience working with cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and team player
  • Excellent project and time management skills (getting things done in a timely manner)
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
