A leading Deep-Tech company developing and manufacturing night vision detectors, located in Misgav (near Karmiel), is seeking a Microelectronics FAB Manager for its wafer and sub-assembly plant.
Job Description
The FAB Manager is responsible for leading complex semiconductor manufacturing processes at the core of the company's operations, from raw material (wafer level) to the completed Focal Plane Array (FPA) sub-assembly level. The role involves managing approximately 150 employees and managers.
The position includes strategic and operational leadership of the FAB plant, expanding production and supply capabilities, implementing new technologies, and ensuring full compliance with delivery, quality, schedule, and yield targets — within a complex and multi-disciplinary technological environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall Management: Full management of production and maintenance processes (processes, equipment, cleanroom systems, infrastructure) across the entire line: planning, organization, management, and control.
- Semiconductor Manufacturing: Managing advanced production areas such as Photolithography, Wet Processes, Evaporation, Dry Processes, Packaging, and Testing.
- Engineering & Infrastructure: Initiating, planning, and leading engineering projects and infrastructure improvements; collaborating closely with engineering and integration teams.
- Process Improvement: Optimizing production through improved monitoring, defect reduction, and yield enhancement.
- Operational Efficiency: Improving utilization and Cycle Time, identifying bottlenecks, and leading mitigation plans.
- Maintenance & Equipment: Managing the maintenance array and production equipment: reliability, preventive maintenance, and machine availability.
- NPI / Tech Transfer: Deep involvement in technology transfer from R&D to production.
- Budget Management: Managing production, maintenance, and infrastructure budgets, including planning and execution of multi-year CapEx investments.
- Leadership & Development: Professional and managerial development of a large workforce, including recruitment, mentoring, and training.
- Internal Interfaces: Ongoing collaboration with Engineering, R&D, PPS (Planning), Infrastructure, Quality, Procurement, and more.
- Compliance: Adhering to strict safety and quality requirements, standards, and protocols, with an emphasis on cleanroom procedures.
Job Requirements
Industry Experience: Semiconductor background is a must – FAB experience required!
- Education: Bachelors degree (B.Sc.) in Engineering (Electrical / Materials / Chemical / Mechanical / Physics or a relevant field) – Mandatory.
- Advanced Degree: Masters degree in Engineering / MBA – An advantage.
- Experience: Significant managerial experience (over 50 employees for at least 5 years) in an advanced FAB / Cleanroom manufacturing environment.
- Managerial Skills: Experience managing technological teams and lower-level managers in a multi-shift environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of semiconductor industry manufacturing processes, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Operational Excellence: Experience leading process improvements, managing KPIs, and meeting operational targets.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in budget management, capital procurement (CapEx), and project management.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making capabilities, systemic vision, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Interpersonal: Excellent interpersonal skills and high performance in a multi-interface environment.
