Job description
Design, develop, build & verify complex electro-optical setups.
Integrate complex, high precision optical sub-assemblies into quantum computing systems.
Maximize QPU performances, define, simulate, and measure the overall noise budget. Obtain efficient ways to reduce, control and mitigate leading noise sources.
Provide technical expertise & support running systems in all electro-optical considerations.
Explore new technologies for next generation setups and operate with sub-contractors for both design and manufacturing.
Extensive collaboration with all R&D groups including trap, theory and system group.
Requirements and skills
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Applied Physics or related fields or exceptional MSc graduates with relevant research and/or industry experience.
Proven experience with lasers and electro-optical systems a must.
Broad understanding of optical principles and practices.
Relevant industry experience a significant advantage.
Experience in characterizing & stabilizing lasers, servoing diodes, locking systems an advantage.
Experience in designing optical and electro-optical setups an advantage.
Knowledge and experience in Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) - an advantage.
Experience with data analysis (taking, plotting, analyzing, fitting and interpreting relevant data from optical testing experiments).
