Overview
Opex Energy is looking to recruit an Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to support the commissioning and start-up activities of the Ostrołęka Combined Cycle Power Plant in Poland.
The successful candidate will supervise the commissioning of low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical systems, ensuring that testing, energization, troubleshooting and handover activities are completed safely and in accordance with project procedures.
The role requires a practical, field-oriented professional able to coordinate electrical commissioning activities with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, I&C, OEM representatives and Client personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise commissioning and start-up activities for LV and MV electrical systems and equipment.
- Plan, coordinate and witness inspections, functional tests, energization and operational tests.
- Supervise the commissioning of LV/MV switchgear, Motor Control Centres (MCC), transformers, motors, UPS, battery chargers and AC/DC distribution systems.
- Coordinate and support Motor Run Tests (MRT), including checks of rotation, interlocks, protections and operational sequences.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults identified during commissioning and start-up.
- Troubleshoot control circuits, motor starters, protection systems, field wiring and electrical interfaces.
- Verify system readiness, test documentation, punch-list status and prerequisites before energization.
- Review single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, vendor documentation and commissioning procedures.
- Coordinate electrical activities with Mechanical, I&C, Construction, Operations and OEM teams.
- Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO and electrical isolation procedures.
- Prepare and review commissioning reports, test records, punch lists, progress updates and handover documentation.
- Support the safe transfer of commissioned systems to Operations.
Scope of Responsibility
The Electrical Commissioning Supervisor will support commissioning and start-up activities associated with:
- LV and MV switchgear.
- Motor Control Centres (MCC).
- LV and MV electrical motors.
- Motor Run Tests (MRT).
- Power and distribution transformers.
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and soft starters.
- Protection relays and control circuits.
- UPS systems and battery chargers.
- AC/DC distribution systems.
- Power, control and instrumentation cables.
- Cable testing, continuity and insulation resistance checks.
- Earthing and grounding systems.
- Electrical auxiliary and utility systems.
Required Profile
We are looking for professionals with proven hands-on experience in:
- Commissioning and start-up of LV and MV electrical systems
- Supervision or coordination of electrical commissioning teams and field activities.
- Functional testing, energization and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
- LV/MV switchgear, MCC, transformers, motors, protection systems and control circuits.
- Motor Run Tests, interlock checks and operational testing.
- Electrical fault diagnosis and resolution during commissioning.
- Reading single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics and vendor documentation.
- Permit to Work, LOTO and safe electrical isolation procedures.
- Coordination with multidisciplinary commissioning, construction and operations teams.
Experience in combined cycle power plants, conventional power generation, refineries, Oil & Gas or petrochemical facilities will be considered an advantage, but is not mandatory.
High-voltage experience is not required for this position.

- English – Professional working proficiency (mandatory).
- Polish will be considered an advantage.
