Job Overview
- We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Geoscientist to join our team in Luanda to support operations in Angola and Brazil.
Responsabilities:
- Conduct research, collecting and analysing data, and communicating findings to senior management;
- Passionate about geology/geophysics/geoscience
- Able to represent the company in partner/government meetings;
- fluent in both Portuguese and English (will be prioritised);
Junior Geoscientist Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct research to aid in the understanding of the Companys E&P assets in Angola and Brazil;
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and government departments to assist in advancing operational matters related to the Companys assets;
- Collect and analyse geological and geophysical data using a variety of methods, including well, seismic, and production data;
- Interpret geological and geophysical data and create geoscience models to explain geological processes and structures.
- Develop and implement study plans and research projects, including sampling and datacollection protocols. e.g. Well Core / Cuttings study and Seismic acquisition;
- Communicate findings to stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and the general public. Including preparing technical reports, papers, and presentations to communicate results;
- Work collaboratively with other geoscientists, geologists, geophysicists, and related professionals to advance understanding of the Company assets in Angola and Brazil;
- Provide support for New Ventures evaluations;
- Potential exposure to REE and Battery Metal Mining Exploration assets if desired;
Junior Geoscientist Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Geoscience Degree (Bachelor of Science) in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field;
- 2+ years of experience in geoscience or related field industry experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Desirable:
- Advanced degree (Master's) in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field;
- Experience in relevant geoscience software and tools;
- Experience with GIS, remote sensing, and other geospatial technologies;
- Familiarity with petroleum engineering principles;
- Experience in environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance;
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
