Role purpose:
To assist in all aspects of the retail store including the sales, profitability, waste and quality of all products, displays and customer service. Work collaboratively with the site management and colleagues to help drive the store. This would suit someone who has experience in delivering a first class customer experience and has a natural flair for working with a team while also enjoying using their own initiative.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Team Member you will be required to assume additional responsibility in all areas of the Store operation, as the business needs require, this includes:
Job Role Specifics:
- Ensure and take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day running of retail unit
- Ensure that the store reflects company's standards of merchandising, presentation and Customer Care
- Achieve sales, margins, wastage targets
- Implement the HACCP food safety management system
- Ensure and maintain the level of hygiene to the highest standard throughout the store and compliance by all staff members to the same
- Maintain Health and Safety standards on site, as per the Company Handbook and Safety Statement.
- Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the shop area
- Ensure checklists are followed on a daily basis
- Ensure all the equipment, signs and lights are clean and fully illuminated
- Ensuring operation of the pumps and that the forecourt area is clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure that all bins are emptied on a regular basis or as necessary
- Ensure the car wash is in good operative order
- Ensure the car wash detergent stocks are kept at a maximum and the temperatures and all other gauges are set correctly
- Ensure the Service area -the vacuum, air and water - are in correct working order
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety issues and legislation regarding the sale of cigarettes, tobacco, alcohol, lottery tickets, tablets (paracetamol) and adult magazines
- Competently deal with site visits from internal and external sources
- Supervise opening/closing of the site.
Role requirements:
- Minimum 2 years retail experience;
- As an ambitious individual you will welcome opportunities to gain knowledge and assume additional responsibility ;
- Be fully flexible as hours will be based on business needs;
- Must have Level 1 knowledge of food safety;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word);
- Working knowledge of the CBE system is desirable;
- Experience balancing cash/tills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Good delegation skills;
- Highly driven with a strong work ethic;
- An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets;
- Commerciality and brand awareness;
- Passion for retail;
