As a Food Production Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our food production facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the production process, managing a team and ensuring that quality, safety, and productivity compliance standards are met. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Production Process: Oversee all aspects of the food production process, including ingredient preparation, cooking, packaging, and labelling, to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Team Management: Lead and coach a team of production workers, including scheduling, training, and performance management. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to promote teamwork and productivity continuously communicating and providing two-way feedback to both the team and the Senior Management team .
  • Quality Control: Monitor product quality throughout the production process, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure that products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Conduct regular safety inspections, provide safety training to employees, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely supply of materials, and minimize waste through efficient production planning and inventory control.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime. Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule repairs and maintenance activities as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, quality control records, and inventory logs. Prepare regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality metrics for management review.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements in the production process. Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production workflows and maximize productivity.

Essential Criteria

  • · Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control standards, and production processes.
  • · Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team and work on own initiative.
  • · Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • · Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, as needed.
  • · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable criteria

  • Proven experience in food production or manufacturing.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF) is an advantage.
  • This is a Monday to Sunday operation and our Food Production Supervisor must be available to work early morning shifts and weekend shifts.
