We are currently looking to recruit a Cheese room assistant for our well-established client in the catering business.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive cheese orders and check for quality issues in packaging and cheeses.
  • Enter orders into stock intake system.
  • Checking stock is stored in correct date order - on a last in, last out basis.
  • Cutting cheese to order recording stock movement on Emydex system e.g.
  • Cheese Storage to Production.
  • Ensure all stock is scanned at every stage of movement 
  • Preparing outgoing shipments to tight deadlines ensuring all cheese is scanned
  • out of Emydex, for traceability and stock management.
  • Preparing sample boxes for Sales Team: ensuring Salesperson has placed an
  • order onto the system and all stock/cheese pieces are scanned out before they are given to Sales rep.
  • Working with cheese team on events, sales initiatives, new product development
  • and customer tastings both at Park West and customer sites.
  • Selecting cheese that is perfectly ripe and in best condition for the customer.
  • Cutting cheese from full wheels rind sharing, shape and neatness essential
  • Sharing knowledge about cheese styles, quality control, storage and wrapping with warehouse cheese team.
  • Wrapping cut cheese to best-in-class presentation standards
  • Packing of orders- order assembly
  • Log orders- manual & on computer
  • Stock replenishment
  • Ensure the proper storage of cheese.
  • Checking cheese room throughout the day to ensure cheese is maintained in best
  • condition.
  • Report quality issues or queries to Cheese Category Manager and the QC
  • department
  • Dealing with trimming, rind overgrowth, catching quality issues 
  • Cleaning cheese storage room and cut cheese production room according to QC training courses.
  • Collaboration with: Specialty Cheese Category Manager, Food Safety & Quality
  • Manager, Cheese Buyer, Cheese Cutting staff.
  • Attendance at cheese training and customer events, both on-site and off-site
  • Ad hoc duties as and when requested by Warehouse Manager primarily in relation
  • to cheese. On occasion, when time allows, offer help to Warehouse team.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Exceptional hygiene and cleanliness
  • Minimum 3 years experience in fast-moving business, preferably fine food
  • Likes eating cheese. Will taste all cheeses in our range.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in cold temperature
  • Forklift license desirable, but not essential

Hours: 5 Days per week over Monday to Saturday; Day Shift
