Our client provides tailored business support and consultancy services in Ireland, specialising in: merchant services, business funding, energy solutions, systems integration, and management consultancy. They offer payment-processing solutions (hardware, POS, integration) with flexible contracts, simple PCI compliance, and next-day settlements. They also deliver energy cost-reduction, business funding (merchant cash advances), systems integration, and consultancy services to new and existing businesses.
You will be joining a company with strong growth ambitions, servicing businesses across multiple verticals, helping clients reduce costs and optimise operations.
Role Purpose / Summary
The BD Manager will drive new business acquisition and revenue growth across the companys product and service portfolio. You will identify prospects, present tailored solutions, manage the sales cycle from lead to close, and maintain ongoing client relationships.
You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue targets, leveraging your consultative sales skills to present ROI-oriented solutions, and ensuring high client satisfaction and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads via prospecting (cold outreach, networking, referrals, events)
- Present, pitch, and demonstrate the companys solutions tailored to client needs (payment systems, energy savings, funding, systems integration, consultancy)
- Run discovery meetings, needs analyses, and build proposals/concepts with clear ROI/cost benefit analysis
- Negotiate commercial terms, close sales, and ensure smooth handoff to onboarding/implementation
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, cross-selling additional services
- Track sales activity, forecast pipeline, report on metrics, and manage your territory
- Stay current with the companys offerings, market trends, and competitor landscape
- Provide feedback to product, marketing, and operations teams on client needs, objections, and insights
Key Requirements:
- Proven track record in B2B/commercial sales (ideally in payments, fintech, SaaS, energy, or consultancy)
- Experience meeting and exceeding sales targets and handling full sales cycles
- Strong consultative selling skills, ability to articulate value/ROI
- Comfortable with cold outreach, prospecting, building new relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, results driven, resilient and target oriented
- Ability to travel within assigned territory and visit clients onsite
- Valid drivers license
- Familiarity with payment systems/merchant services is a strong plus
- Ability to understand technical and financial concepts and translate them into client value
