Responsibilities:

  1. Operate and maintain drifter equipment in accordance with safety protocols and procedures.
  2. Execute drilling activities efficiently to support mine development and production objectives.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of drifter machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Collaborate with mine engineers and supervisors to implement drilling plans effectively.
  5. Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies during all drilling operations.
  6. Maintain accurate records of drilling activities and equipment usage.
  7. Participate in safety meetings and initiatives to promote a culture of safety awareness.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in mining or related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience operating drifter equipment in a mining or construction environment.
  3. Strong understanding of drilling techniques, tools, and equipment.
  4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and drilling plans.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  6. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks in a challenging work environment.
  8. Willingness to work in shifts and comply with site-specific regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience working in gold mining operations.
  2. Familiarity with mining software and technology for data analysis and reporting.
  3. Knowledge of mine safety regulations and best practices.
  4. Experience operating other heavy machinery in a mining setting.
