Responsibilities:

  1. Operate mucking equipment to load and transport ore, waste rock, and other materials within the mine.
  2. Ensure safe and efficient operation of mucking machinery in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with mine supervisors and engineers to coordinate mucking activities with mine production plans.
  4. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of mucking equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
  6. Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies during all mucking operations.
  7. Record and report production data, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or safety concerns.
  8. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and initiatives to promote a culture of safety awareness.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in mining or heavy equipment operation preferred.
  2. Proven experience operating mucking equipment such as loaders, scoops, or trucks in a mining or construction environment.
  3. Strong understanding of mucking techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  4. Ability to interpret mine plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  6. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks in a challenging work environment.
  8. Willingness to work in shifts and comply with site-specific regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience working in gold mining operations.
  2. Familiarity with mine site operations, including ore handling and waste management processes.
  3. Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance procedures.
  4. Experience operating other heavy machinery in a mining or construction setting.
