About the Opportunity

A well-established EMS provider in north-central Indiana is expanding its inter-facility transport team and seeking a licensed Paramedic for full-time placement. This organization specializes in planned and unscheduled patient transfers between healthcare facilities, operating at ALS level with an emphasis on clinical precision, documentation quality, and continuity of care. This is a clinically serious role for a paramedic who wants to do real medicine — not just drive.

What You'll Do

• Receive and review transfer requests, sending-facility reports, physician orders, and patient acuity documentation prior to transport
• Perform detailed on-arrival assessments at sending facilities; verify and secure lines, tubes, infusions, ventilators, monitors, and ancillary devices
• Deliver ALS care throughout transport: cardiac monitoring, medication administration, infusion continuation (within protocol), airway management, and ventilatory support
• Continuously reassess patient status; intervene per standing orders or online medical control if deterioration occurs; divert when clinically indicated
• Operate ambulance safely; secure patient and equipment; coordinate with dispatch, sending teams, receiving teams, and specialty escorts as required
• Complete accurate, timely electronic patient care reports (ePCR) and deliver structured verbal and written handoffs to receiving facility staff
• Maintain ambulance readiness: monitors, pumps, stretchers, and supplies restocked and inspection-ready after each transfer
• Apply EMTALA-related transfer principles, local IFT protocols, and sending-physician orders while retaining full clinical responsibility during transport

What You'll Need

• Completion of an accredited paramedic program; current National Registry (NREMT-P) and/or Indiana state paramedic license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; PALS required or preferred depending on patient population
• Valid driver's license meeting service requirements; prior ambulance operation experience
• Minimum 1 year of relevant EMS or hospital-based transport experience; IFT-specific experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency or willingness to train on ePCR documentation platforms
• Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment (100+ lbs with team assistance); capacity to work variable shifts including nights and weekends
• IFT or critical-care paramedic credentialing a plus for candidates seeking higher-acuity transfer assignments
