About the Opportunity

A globally recognized plastics and chemical manufacturer with operations in Northeast Ohio is seeking an Accountant I to join their on-site finance team. What You'll Do

• Process vendor invoices, payment requests, and accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain vendor records and support onboarding of new vendors into the system
• Execute payment processing and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
• Utilize SAP ERP and other financial systems to process and monitor accounting transactions
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Prepare account reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting documentation
• Assist with internal and external audits and maintain accurate accounting records
• Support fixed asset accounting including additions, transfers, and disposals
• Assist with inventory audits, reconciliations, and related reporting
• Provide support for cash management, banking transactions, and financial controls
• Train and guide employees on accounting workflows, invoice processing, and system use
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Logistics, Procurement, HR, and Corporate Finance

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Accounting degree preferred)
• 2+ years of accounting, accounts payable, or finance experience
• Experience working within an ERP system; SAP experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Experience supporting audits, fixed assets, inventory accounting, or month-end close activities preferred
