About the Opportunity

An elite family law firm known for handling high-conflict, high-asset divorce and custody matters is seeking a top-tier Paralegal to join its Covington-based practice.

This is not your typical legal assistant role, the team is looking for a razor-sharp, emotionally resilient paralegal who can think like a lawyer, draft like a litigator, and execute like a professional athlete under pressure. You'll be expected to manage complex filings, draft motions and pleadings, prepare trial binders, and build asset/debt spreadsheets that can hold up in court.

This is a high-intensity, high-standards firm. When its game time, the stakes are high. You'll work directly with one of the regions top-ranked family law attorneys, recently invited to join the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), an honor extended to only the top 4% in the field.

If you're the kind of person who thrives in chaos, values precision, and refuses to miss a deadline, read on.

What You'll Do

  • Draft motions, pleadings, proposed entries, subpoenas, and correspondence with minimal revisions
  • Prepare, organize, and file legal documents with Ohio and Kentucky family courts
  • Build and update complex asset and debt spreadsheets (must understand IRAs, 401(k)s, etc.)
  • Organize exhibits, discovery materials, and trial prep documentation
  • Support attorneys in high-stakes court proceedings and post-decree disputes
  • Monitor case timelines and proactively manage docketing, filing deadlines, and hearing schedules
  • Communicate with clients in high-conflict or emotionally sensitive cases
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and version control across multiple active cases

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in Ohio family law (Kentucky experience a plus)
  • Expert-level document drafting ability, your writing samples should speak for themselves
  • Fluency in family law terminology, including parenting schedules, custody motions, financial disclosures, and prenuptial agreements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and case management software
  • Ability to manage stress and stay calm under pressure (you will be in the courtroom)
  • Strong emotional intelligence, clients often bring trauma, grief, and volatility
  • Unshakable attention to detail. This is not a place for typos or shortcuts
  • Willingness to work long hours when needed, especially during trial prep

What You'll Get

  • Competitive compensation tailored to your experience and performance
  • Mentorship from one of the top-ranked family law attorneys in the region
  • Direct courtroom exposure, not back-office busywork
  • Fast-paced, no-nonsense work culture that values execution over ego
  • Celebrations and camaraderie when the case is closed and the job is done right

Application Instructions

Please include a writing sample with your application, ideally a family-law-related motion, proposed entry, or brief. Applications without writing samples will not be considered. Writing samples must be emailed directly to info@ondeck-solutions.com.
