About the Opportunity
This position is responsible for developing and expanding business opportunities across HVAC equipment, vibration isolation, acoustical products, seismic engineering solutions, and related mechanical systems. The role requires a combination of technical aptitude, consultative selling ability, and project management discipline. The successful candidate will work directly with engineers, mechanical contractors, facility owners, and consulting firms throughout the project lifecycle. A substantial portion of the role involves interpreting mechanical plans, specifications, and schedules to identify opportunities and develop competitive solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute territory-specific sales strategies across healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical, education, government, commercial, and mission-critical markets
- Build relationships with engineers, consulting firms, mechanical contractors, owners, and decision-makers
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents to identify project opportunities
- Generate project takeoffs, quotations, submittals, and proposal packages
- Conduct contractor visits, site inspections, product presentations, and lunch-and-learn programs
- Manage project forecasting, budgeting, pipeline development, and sales activity reporting
- Support negotiation efforts and secure project awards while protecting margin objectives
- Provide technical guidance related to vibration isolation, acoustical products, seismic engineering, and HVAC applications
- Coordinate project turnover, order fulfillment, and customer support activities
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience selling HVAC, mechanical systems, engineered products, building systems, or related technical solutions
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Experience managing project-based sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of mechanical contracting, consulting engineering, or construction project environments
- Strong proposal development, forecasting, and pipeline management capabilities
- Proficiency utilizing CRM platforms and technical sales tools
- Ability to travel approximately 15-25%
