About the Opportunity
This position leads the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial solar construction projects across multiple phases of development and installation. The role is responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, client communication, and regulatory coordination while ensuring projects remain aligned with operational and financial objectives. Acting as the primary point of accountability, this individual drives project execution from contract award through closeout. The position reports directly to operational leadership and supports continued growth within a specialized renewable energy construction environment.
What You'll Do
- Review and approve project budgets prior to client proposal delivery
- Develop, review, and administer AIA contracts with subcontractors
- Establish project execution plans, staffing requirements, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate activities between internal stakeholders, customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams
- Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Provide monthly revenue and cost forecasting based on project milestones
- Deliver project status reporting to leadership and clients
- Resolve technical, contractual, scheduling, and field execution challenges
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and compliance activities with regulatory agencies
- Serve as the primary project liaison for customers and internal departments
- Support solar PV system design activities when technical qualifications allow
- Conduct site visits and oversee field execution activities as required
- Travel up to 25% in support of project delivery
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and project management experience
- Minimum three years of project management experience within construction, EPC, energy, electrical, or related industries
- Strong understanding of contracts, project budgets, schedules, specifications, and construction documentation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and construction drawings
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and/or Smartsheet
- Working knowledge of commercial construction project delivery methodologies
- Ability to work around high-voltage AC and DC electrical systems
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
- PMP certification preferred
- NABCEP certification preferred
- Experience with solar PV systems, electrical construction, or renewable energy projects preferred
- ERP experience, including Sage, preferred
