About the Opportunity

Our client is the Midwest's #1 commercial solar EPC company, specializing in the design and construction of commercial-scale solar arrays. They are expanding their project management team and seeking a driven Associate Project Manager ready to develop into a full PM role within a high-growth renewable energy firm. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a market leader — not a startup, not a side project.

What You'll Do

• Support Project Managers in reviewing budgets, scopes, and schedules prior to client proposals
• Assist in preparing subcontractor agreements and supporting project documentation
• Coordinate project logistics and communications across internal teams and external stakeholders
• Track project progress, flag emerging issues proactively, and compile status reports
• Assist with revenue forecasting and cost updates throughout project lifecycle
• Attend internal and client meetings; capture action items and drive follow-through
• Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to maintain alignment with specs and code
• Coordinate with permitting authorities and utilities as required
• Review design drawings, equipment lists, and installation plans
• Provide on-site support to ensure project standards compliance — up to 30% travel required

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, construction, or renewable energy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — you will be client-facing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with MS Project, Smartsheet, or comparable tools a plus
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under deadline
• Solar PV experience is a plus; PMP or NABCEP certification (or willingness to pursue) preferred
• Ability to traverse and inspect active construction sites in varying weather conditions; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
