Position Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Class A trucks. Complete service reports with necessary details in a timely manner, demo units and teach equipment operation and keep company equipment well maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*Must know Cummings, Cat, Paccar, Mack, and Detroit Engines

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnosis, and repair all Class A Trucks and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/principles to other maintenance personnel.
  • Assures Preventative maintenance program is conducted on equipment and report and qualify results.
  • Provides emergency unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Inform the appropriate facility personnel/supervisors of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect their area of operation.
  • Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
  • Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by their leader.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment.
  • Must have the ability to work in and contribute to production improvement, associate involvement and temporary teams as assigned.
  • Must have own tools

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Will be exposed to plant production development, indoors and outdoors
  • Exposed to elements cold, heat and humidity
  • Regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending and moving about the yard/facility.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials
  • Occasional testing of equipment
  • Work well alone
  • Must exhibit flexibility, good attitude and dependability
