Position Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Class A trucks. Complete service reports with necessary details in a timely manner, demo units and teach equipment operation and keep company equipment well maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Must know Cummings, Cat, Paccar, Mack, and Detroit Engines
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnosis, and repair all Class A Trucks and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/principles to other maintenance personnel.
- Assures Preventative maintenance program is conducted on equipment and report and qualify results.
- Provides emergency unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Inform the appropriate facility personnel/supervisors of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect their area of operation.
- Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
- Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by their leader.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must have good communication skills
- Must pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment.
- Must have the ability to work in and contribute to production improvement, associate involvement and temporary teams as assigned.
- Must have own tools
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Will be exposed to plant production development, indoors and outdoors
- Exposed to elements cold, heat and humidity
- Regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending and moving about the yard/facility.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials
- Occasional testing of equipment
- Work well alone
- Must exhibit flexibility, good attitude and dependability
