Role Mission
Lead, plan, and execute construction and fit-out activities for retail real estate projects, ensuring alignment with internal concepts, local regulations, sustainability targets, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Provide engineering and construction expertise for new store openings, renovations, relocations, downsizing, and extensions (both new builds and existing buildings)
- Lead technical discussions with landlords and negotiate construction split lists
- Coordinate and support technical due diligence (soil, environmental, and structural studies)
- Manage the end-to-end construction process including tendering, contractor selection, negotiation, and contract management
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with safety, sustainability, and statutory requirements
- Prepare, review, and validate building permit and certification applications
- Develop clear briefs and guidance for internal and external execution stakeholders
- Conduct post-delivery follow-ups and performance reviews of construction decisions
Real Estate Portfolio Improvement
- Perform annual property audits and ensure efficient facility management across the region
- Provide technical support and advisory to store operations teams
- Stay up to date with innovative construction techniques and designs to optimize cost efficiency and reduce CO emissions
- Collaborate with regional and global peers to share best practices and improve tools and processes
Requirements
- Strong skills in construction, project, cost, and risk management
- Experience in retail fit-out, site management, tendering, and supplier selection
- Ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of local building laws, safety regulations, and construction standards
- Proficiency in CAD and visualization tools (2D/3D), Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset with strong communication skills
- Understanding of sustainability trends and operational cost optimization
- Experience managing external partners, contractors, and temporary staff
