Senior Operations Manager (logistics)

Position Details

• Location: Suvarnabhumi Airport Free Zone
• Working Days: Monday – Friday (Flexible for operational urgencies)

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead and oversee daily operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, strict compliance, and timely service delivery.
• Expansion Management: Prepare the operations team for full-scale operational takeover and expansion within the Airport Free Zone.
• Planning & Resource Allocation: Develop operational plans, optimized workflows, staffing structures, and resource allocation strategies.
• Risk & Incident Management: Identify operational risks, implement prompt corrective and preventive actions, and ensure all incidents are properly documented, investigated, and resolved.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong working relationships with airlines, customs authorities, freight forwarding partners, vendors, and service providers.
• Freight & Air Cargo Operations: Oversee bookings, uplift planning, flight schedules, AWB stock management, customs processes, and overall cargo movement.
• Vendor & Cost Optimization: Evaluate alternative airlines and service providers to achieve optimal operational efficiency and commercial value; review freight charges, capacity, schedules, and customs-related costs.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor key operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for executive management.
• Team Development: Build a high-performing operations team by driving accountability, collaboration, discipline, and service excellence.
• Business Continuity: Support emergency response protocols and business continuity planning.

Requirements

• Experience: Senior-level leadership experience in logistics management, air-freight operations, or customs brokerage.
• Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of air-freight operations, customs clearance, airport procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Management Capability: Proven track record in leading, developing, and holding teams accountable in high-volume, complex environments.
• Commercial & Process Acumen: Strong commercial awareness, cost-control capability, and a track record of driving process optimization and organizational change.
• Problem Solving & Adaptability: Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Languages: Good command of both Thai and English.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including weekends or public holidays, when operationally required.
• Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
