Job Scope:
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to support Children and Young People with mental health and well-being. As an Occupational Therapist, you will conduct personalized assessments and provide tailored interventions to help young individuals regain independence and engage in meaningful activities, contributing to their recovery journey.
Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will include conducting initial assessments, offering 1:1 support, and assisting young people in identifying their needs and achieving their goals. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, providing both Occupational Therapy-specific and general mental health support. This position involves both in-person and video conferencing sessions.
Additionally, as an Occupational Therapist, you will liaise with statutory and non-statutory organizations, ensure comprehensive support packages, maintain accurate records, and contribute to funding applications and update reports. You will stay informed on health and social care developments and prioritize personal development.
Do you have?
- A professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration (or imminent registration) with HCPC and BAOT
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team supporting young people (11-25) with mental health challenges and complex needs
- Strong skills in needs-led assessments, goal planning, reviewing, and delivering client-centred support
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory, Recovery principles, and relevant practice models
- Excellent assessment abilities, both in Occupational Therapy and general mental health support, with a commitment to culturally sensitive approaches
- Proven experience collaborating with Social Care, Health Services, and other agencies, alongside strong organizational and communication skills
