We are looking for an Art Director

Are you a positively curious person who is social at heart? Both literally and figuratively? Do you want to work in a contemporary, yet future proof advertising agency? Then this might interest you.

We are currently looking for an Art Director, who feels comfortable at the intersection of creative content, data enriched insights, innovation, and smart media targeting.

Someone that puts as much ambition into creating always-on post on Facebook as into the conception of a branded series of Twitch streams or a creative influencer campaign on TikTok. Always based on a strong, insightful idea.

You will work alongside a Copywriter to develop exciting social-first ideas and concepts that come to life and excite your audience, enhancing brand perception and personality.

The role is for multiple brands. All brands are more lifestyle brands (tobacco, spirits, retail, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Youll be working on all sorts of jobs, but you should be able to handle medium to large campaigns.
  • Conceptualising new and innovative solutions that are based on simple insights.
  • Working as part of a conceptual team, you will be responsible for developing concepts for social media, developing persuasive, compelling ideas that motivate and inspire the audience to take a desired action.
  • Providing a clear, focused creative vision to both internal and external partners, refining and improving continuously.
  • Inspire and uplift our internal teams and external partners (e.g., META, TikTok) to ensure campaigns shine with creativity and innovation.
  • Directing the creation of diverse creative assets, from key art to trailers, encompassing brand-building and direct response ads through our tech tools.
  • Crafting the final product of an idea/campaign to go-live readiness, and briefing your ideas to designers, illustrators, typographers, and photographers as necessary, so the ability to do this is key.
  • Presenting your thinking to clients.
  • Problem solving in real time.

About you

  • Your thinking should be social first, and open to trans-media ideas.
  • More specifically, you need to be able to tell the difference between an idea and an execution an idea being the bigger picture thought, and an execution, a way (perhaps one of many) of bringing that idea to life.
  • You need a solid understanding of digital and social media.
  • You should have the ability to assess ideas both strategically and creatively.
  • Design inspiration/resources: Have a collection of great design, art direction, photography, animation, and anything else that will help you be a better art director.

Qualifications and Experience

  • The ideal candidate must have or is:
  • 5 years experience in similar role.
  • An observant and inquisitive approach to people and their environment
  • Insight into human behavior and motivational needs
  • Creativity and originality
  • Sense of color and form
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and marketing abilities
  • Can work well in a team.
  • Be interested: Immerse yourself in awards annuals and see what great work is out there.
  • Show a keenness to learn: You need to be responsible for learning and up-skilling yourself as an art director.
  • Deadlines: You need to be able to meet deadlines and deliver on the briefs given to you
  • Proactive work: You should be doing this, and it should be winning you awards.
  • Ideas: You should be able to conceptualize brave, fresh, world-class ideas
