Ogilvy Cape Town is seeking a talented and award-winning Mid-Level Art Director to join our dynamic creative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing innovative and impactful work across various media. You will collaborate with copywriters, designers, and strategists to create compelling and effective campaigns for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative concepts that meet client objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and other team members to produce high-quality visual content.
  • Present creative ideas and concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in advertising and design.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow professionally.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Ensure all creative work is delivered on time and meets the highest standards of quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Art Director in an advertising agency 
  • Proven track record of award-winning work, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual and visual skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools. 
  • Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Passion for creativity and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on integrated campaigns across various media, including digital, print, and TV.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
  • Knowledge of video production and editing software is a plus.
