AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The position is responsible for database management both on-prem and in Azure cloud according to Odfjell SE data management strategy and principles.

  • Developing database structures and features according to organizational needs.
  • Protecting data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.
  • Performing database maintenance, migration, and coordinating upgrade of hardware and software.

TASKS:

The Database Administrator ---

  • Conducting diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics.
  • Delivering according to procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
  • Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
  • Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
  • Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
  • Establishing and following up monitoring metrics regarding usage and performance.
  • Documenting and keeping best practices for database management at Odfjell updated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably from international company
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of low code / Microsoft Power Platform will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to complete work tasks on time and within scope.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS, SQL, and Azure platform needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
