AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The position is responsible for database management both on-prem and in Azure cloud according to Odfjell SE data management strategy and principles.
- Developing database structures and features according to organizational needs.
- Protecting data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.
- Performing database maintenance, migration, and coordinating upgrade of hardware and software.
TASKS:
The Database Administrator ---
- Conducting diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics.
- Delivering according to procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
- Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
- Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
- Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
- Establishing and following up monitoring metrics regarding usage and performance.
- Documenting and keeping best practices for database management at Odfjell updated.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably from international company
- Knowledge and experience in the use of low code / Microsoft Power Platform will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to complete work tasks on time and within scope.
- Advanced knowledge in MS, SQL, and Azure platform needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel internationally.
