About the Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst with previous experience in engineering-related projects to join an external delivery team supporting a software solution used within the automotive industry.

The solution supports the management of engineering deliverables, including vehicle parts, technical drawings, engineering data and information related to numerical simulation processes. It enables engineering teams to manage and coordinate technical deliverables throughout automotive engineering and product development activities.

This role requires prior exposure to engineering processes and engineering stakeholders. We are looking for someone who has worked as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Delivery Coordinator, Product Owner or in a similar role on projects supporting automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or technical product development.

You do not need to be a practicing engineer or perform engineering calculations yourself. However, you must understand the engineering context, the types of technical deliverables involved and how software solutions support engineering teams.

Experience with numerical simulation processes is necessary, ideally in the automotive industry. Candidates do not need to be simulation engineers, but should be familiar with the context in which engineering simulations and related technical deliverables are used.

What You'll Do

  • Gather, analyse and clarify business and engineering requirements with stakeholders from automotive engineering and related technical departments.
  • Understand engineering workflows involving vehicle components, parts, technical drawings, engineering data and numerical simulation-related information.
  • Translate engineering and business needs into functional requirements, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and actionable backlog items.
  • Act as the main link between engineering stakeholders and the external software delivery team, ensuring that technical and business requirements are understood correctly.
  • Coordinate delivery activities throughout the software development lifecycle, following up on priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks and blockers.
  • Manage and prioritise the Product Backlog in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to clarify engineering requirements, resolve ambiguities and align stakeholders on expected outcomes.
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate functional testing, requirements validation and business acceptance of delivered features.
  • Maintain clear documentation of requirements, decisions, dependencies and delivery progress.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues and decisions to stakeholders across France and other European locations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve requirements management, delivery coordination and collaboration between engineering and software development teams.

What We're Looking For

Mandatory Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Product Owner, Delivery Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Previous professional experience working on projects involving automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering processes or technical product development.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering stakeholders or technical teams responsible for engineering deliverables.
  • A working understanding of engineering-related data and deliverables, such as vehicle parts, technical drawings, product information and engineering documentation.
  • The ability to understand technical workflows and translate engineering needs into clear software requirements.
  • Experience working closely with software development or external delivery teams.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, software delivery processes, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and Product Backlog management.
  • Experience coordinating delivery activities, managing dependencies, tracking risks and following up on blockers.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Professional English proficiency.
  • Availability to work remotely from Romania on a full-time basis.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with software solutions supporting engineering, product development or technical data management.
  • Exposure to CAD/CAE, PLM/PDM or similar engineering environments.
  • Experience working with international automotive clients or distributed engineering teams.
  • French language proficiency.
  • A technical or engineering degree.
