Commercial Litigation / Bankruptcy Associate

 Job Description:

We are working with a corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and commercial litigation boutique who is looking for an Associate with at least two years of commercial litigation practice to join its office in Fairfield County (CT).

The associate will assist in all aspects of commercial litigation and bankruptcy for sophisticated businesses and individuals. They will handle all aspects of case management across diverse areas of law in state and federal court from inception to completion including: drafting pleadings; managing discovery, including communicating and working with clients on discovery responses and compliance, and managing e-discovery; drafting, opposing, and arguing motions; conducting and defending depositions; conducting evidentiary hearings and trials; and drafting and arguing appeals. Admission to the CT Bar, or the ability to become admitted in CT upon hire, is required.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the CT Practice Book and CT civil practice; be admitted to practice, or be willing to apply for admission to practice, in the U.S. District Court for the District of CT; be proficient with LEXIS or a similar research platform; have experience with Relativity or a similar ESI review platform; have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and legal research skills; and have strong academic credentials.
