Contracts Administrator/Paralegal

 Job Description:

We are working with an engineering firm and general contractor seeking a contracts administrator or paralegal to work closely with General Counsel in their Springfield, MA location. 

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience developing and reviewing contracts and sub-contracts, preparing lien notices, coordinating obligations in client contracts with the applicable subcontracts, including insurance requirements, reviewing and redlining contracts, negotiating contracts and subcontracts, and developing and maintaining document repositories. This a new position reporting directly to the General Counsel and will give the candidate an opportunity to collaborate in drafting policies and procedures, as well as developing reference materials, and assisting in the development of legal and risk management educational resources. 

The candidate must be comfortable working with others, and have a desire to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, internal resources, and other related contacts. Attention to detail, customer service skills, and strong organizational skills are required, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable working in a team and independently and must demonstrate an interest in using independent judgment in decision-making as they learn the position requirements. Prior contracts experience is preferred, but candidates with some contracts-related, construction industry, or legal environment experience will be considered, if they demonstrate a strong interest in contract administration and continued growth. A Bachelor's degree is required.
