Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney (Hybrid)

 Job Description:

We are working with a dynamic and rapidly growing boutique law firm, located in a desirable Hartford suburb, who seeks attorneys with at least three years of civil defense litigation experience. Ideal candidates will assist in defending clients in medical malpractice defense matters as well as matters involving Department of Public Health investigations, pre-suit claims and risk management. The firm will consider candidates at the Associate, Counsel and Partner level. 

Candidates will contribute to day-to-day case management, which includes communicating directly with partners and clients, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, managing discovery, attending fact and expert depositions, court appearances, trial preparation and trials. Knowledge of state court practice and procedure is required, as is strong analytical, organizational, research and writing skills. Senior level attorneys (including Senior Associates) will also assist in supervising and mentoring Junior-to-Mid Level Associates and must have medical malpractice experience. For Junior-to-Mid Level Associate candidates, medical malpractice defense experience is a plus, but not required, however, the candidate should have a genuine interest in developing sophisticated experience and skills in medical malpractice defense and an interest in medical and scientific issues. The firm will consider candidates with transferable litigation skills from another civil/commercial litigation practice or candidates who work in a plaintiffs' practice with an interest in transitioning to a defense-based practice. Admission to the CT Bar, or the ability to become admitted, is required.
