Trusts & Estates Associate

 Job Description:

We are working with a mid-size, regional, full-service firm seeking a candidate with at least four years of Trusts & Estates experience to join their Hartford, CT office. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys on a variety of comprehensive legal services to high-net worth individuals, families, and businesses. 

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Trusts & Estates attorney providing legal counsel and representation to clients in matters related to estate planning, trust administration, and probate. The candidate will have experience drafting a variety of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives; advising clients on strategies to minimize estate taxes and protect their assets; assisting in the administration of estates and trusts, including preparing and filing necessary documents, managing asset distribution, and resolving disputes; conducting relevant legal research; collaborating with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans; and represent clients in court proceedings related to probate and trust administration. Experience with estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns is required, as is experience representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in Probate Court estate and trust proceedings. The candidate must have law firm experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain and build relationships with clients, and a desire to grow a book of business. CT Bar admission required. MA and/or NY admission is a plus.
