FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Planning Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Planning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating planning, scheduling and progress reporting for sustaining capital and expansion project activities at the operational Greenfield gold mine.

The role ensures project schedules, cost forecasts and progress reports for plant optimisation, expansion and sustaining capital works are accurately developed and maintained to support on-time, on-budget delivery.

This role will support the Project Engineering team by maintaining the capital project schedule, tracking contractor progress on sustaining capital and expansion works, and coordinating cost and schedule performance reporting.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring ongoing capital and expansion projects at the Greenfield gold mine are delivered to schedule and budget. This is a capital project delivery role and is separate and distinct from any fixed plant maintenance planning function on site.

  • Develop and maintain the capital project schedule for sustaining capital and expansion works at the Greenfield gold mine using Primavera P6 / MS Project; coordinate with contractors to track progress against schedule milestones for the processing plant and site infrastructure; identify schedule risks and critical path issues, escalating to the Project Engineering team; facilitate weekly and monthly project progress review meetings; develop resource-loaded schedules and coordinate resource allocation across concurrent capital projects.
  • Support project cost control processes including earned value management (EVM), progress measurement and forecasting; monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and forecast cost-to-complete; track contractor invoicing and progress claims against agreed milestones; identify cost and schedule variances and support corrective action plans.
  • Prepare project progress reports, dashboards and schedule/cost variance analysis for management and stakeholders; generate weekly and monthly project performance KPI reports; maintain standard project reporting templates and planning tools; support project steering committee and governance reporting requirements.
  • Maintain project document control registers and ensure accurate record-keeping of project deliverables and drawings; support contract administration activities including variation tracking, correspondence registers and approvals documentation; ensure project documentation complies with company standards; coordinate document review and approval workflows.
  • Coordinate planning inputs across Project Engineering, Processing Operations, Maintenance and Operations Readiness teams; liaise with contractors, engineering consultants and equipment vendors on schedule integration; support project close-out activities including schedule and cost reconciliation and lessons-learned documentation; promote Zero Harm principles, participate in JSA development and risk assessments, and develop effective working relationships with Project Engineering, Processing Operations, Maintenance, Contractors and the HSE Department.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Educational Background:

Holds a National Diploma or Degree in in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Project Management. A Planning and Scheduling Certification (e.g. Primavera P6) is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years' project planning and scheduling experience on capital projects, preferably within an operating mining environment.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
  • Experience with earned value management (EVM) and cost/schedule performance reporting.
  • Previous experience with sustaining capital or brownfield expansion projects at a Greenfield mining operation (desirable).

  • Frequent interaction with operational and project teams.
