Chief Operating Officer

 Job Description:

A well established company is currently recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer in Accra, Ghana

Provide leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. Oversee company operations to ensure safety, production efficiency, quality, service, profitability, and cost-effective management of resources.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters degree in business administration or finance.
  • 5 years minimum working experience in role advertised or a similar role.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities
  • Personal ability to lead, drive and motivate persons to achieve corporate objectives
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
  • Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of communication and public relation techniques
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to identify and secure funding/revenue sources.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.
  • Operational Oversight: Responsible and oversee the daily operation of the company ensuring operations are in synchrony with strategy and routinely reports to the highest-ranking executive, the Chief Executive Officer
  • Resource Management: Oversee company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Process Improvement: Approve company operational and administrative policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  • IMS Oversight: Oversee the companys Integrated Management Systems and ensure the achievement of its objectives and targets
  • Risk Management: Monitor the effectiveness of risk management strategies in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establishment of performance indicators, and monitoring of performance against goals.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Relations: Lead communications efforts through active communications to all stakeholders including meetings, announcements, reports and bulletins
  • Leadership and Team Development: Take a lead role in the development of staff performance objectives and in the evaluation of performance against organizational goals. Provide coaching and counselling where necessary. Foster a staff culture that supports the companys strategy.
