A well established company is currently recruiting for a SMPP Estimator in Ghana

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating within the SMPP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Platework) sector.
• Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in estimating or construction management are a plus.
• Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the development of standardised estimation processes and templates
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates for Capital Works projects.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of unit costs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost evaluations.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports and summaries to management.
• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate and compare proposals to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications.
• Negotiate terms and prices with vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages and proposals.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, correspondence, and project documentation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project scope and requirements.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the estimation process.
• Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to execution
