Human Resources Officer

 Job Description:

A well established company is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Officer in Accra, Ghana

Job Summary:

To provide support in the various Human Resource functions, which includes policy formulation and administration, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, change management and employee relations management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, with minimum of least 3 years work experience in Human Resource Management
  • Proficient knowledge in human resource management, an understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures including the Labour Laws of Ghana
  • Possess exceptional negotiation and communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Organized, HR Analytics, a great listener and attentive to details
  • A team player, willing to share information and support others.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality, and use sound judgment.
  • Problem solving skills to deal with disputes, grievances and staffing problems

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in drawing up of human resource policies and Procedures.
  • Assist in disseminating and interpretation of company HR policies, procedures and benefits to employees.
  • Responsible for scheduling, organizing interviews and selection processes
  • Liaise with unit heads in coordinating staff training sessions, workshops and activities.
  • Track and update HR dashboard for management decisions.
  • Maintain and update human resources records and ensuring all employee data/files are accurate and updated on personnel files (and electronically).
  • Coordinate with Unit managers/ HoDs to establish KPIs for units/departments.
  • Ensure a timely appraisal exercise every half year and end of year.
  • Assist with the Development and implementation of a comprehensive training program for staff.
  • Generate monthly payroll details/advice for processing and payments.
  • Leave Management : Record and track leave schedules.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires.
  • Involved in promoting workplace safety.
  • Undertake workplace investigations, conforming to standards of the labour law and employee manual/handbook.
  • Co-ordinate employee and industry surveys.
  • Submit periodic report for the department and to senior management.
  • Participate in major departmental projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives.
  • Undertake any other related job/tasks assigned by immediate supervisor.
