A well established company is currently recruiting for a Engineering Manager Oil Refinery in Ghana
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to join our team at an oil refinery located in Ghana. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the engineering activities for the rehabilitation and operationalization of the refinery. Your primary responsibility will be to rehabilitate the refinery, and ensure efficient and safe operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. This is a leadership position that requires excellent technical knowledge, strong management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role within an oil refinery or related heavy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of oil refinery processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Demonstrated project management experience, with a track record of successful project delivery including Refinery refurbishment projects and greenfield Refinery EPC projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with local and international regulations governing the oil and gas industry in Ghana.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Operations Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technical personnel responsible for various engineering functions at the refinery.
- Oversee and manage daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the refinery's engineering activities.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities to maximize asset reliability and minimize downtime.
2. Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all engineering activities adhere to local and international safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Implement and maintain robust safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and fostering a strong safety culture among the engineering team.
3. Project Management:
- Coordinate and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, including feasibility studies, cost estimation, and project scheduling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of projects and timely delivery.
4. Asset Integrity and Reliability:
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and execute asset integrity and reliability programs to optimize equipment performance and extend asset life.
5. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Prepare and manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and cost control.
- Work closely with the procurement team to source and acquire necessary materials and services.
6. Talent Development and Training:
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development within the team.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate engineering processes and practices, seeking opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancement.
- Implement best practices and innovative technologies to improve overall refinery performance.
