EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab preferred

General Comments

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • Shift times: willing to accept someone who wants to work 3-10s or 4-10s or even a mixture. They will work 3 days one week and 4 the next week
  • MUST TAKE ON CALL- Call (with more staff on board) would be 1 or 2 nights a week and approx. every 3rd weekend. 10 days/mo. Staff are having to take more call currently due to the low amount of people I have.
  • 1-2 years of Cath Lab tech exp required


Cardiovascular Technology degree employee

RCIS registry required (for CVT program graduates only)

CVT program graduate with no prior work experience has 12 months from hire date to obtain the RCIS certification

New hire/internal transfer Cardiovascular tech with limited experience ina a Cath Lab has 12 months from their hire date/transfer date to obtain the RCIS certification.

Radiology Technology degree employee

Florida Radiology Technologist license is required

ARRT registry in Radiology Technology is required

ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) preferred

BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued care required

ACLS-American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required



Job Description:

A Cardiac Cath Lab Technician is a professional who works in the field of cardiovascular technology. Cath lab technicians are vital team members who assist doctors during invasive cardiovascular procedures such as angioplasty, cardiac catheterization, and electrophysiology.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical skills through education & expertise.
  • Documents & communicates data in concise manner.
  • Develops individual goal-directed care to cardiac patient through use of assessment and technical skills.
  • Witness for waste of drugs in the automated drug delivery system to include narcotics.
  • Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • BCLS Certified (prefer ACLS certified); prefer RCVT or RT.
  • 2 years experience in Cath lab preferred.
