Roles & Responsibilities
- Review the 14c release notes to understand the new features, deprecated features and any changes might impact the application.
- Assess current WebLogic configurations, and recommend improvements and optimizations.
- Perform pre-upgrade assessments, including risk analysis, application code change analysis and mitigation planning.
- Plan and execute the upgrade of Oracle WebLogic Server environments.
- Implement the necessary Java code changes to ensure compatibility and integration with the upgraded WebLogic server.
- Develop test plans and perform comprehensive testing of the application and configuration in the upgraded environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the WebLogic upgrade.
- Document upgrade procedures, configurations, and best practices.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on new WebLogic features and functionalities.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Monitor the application in the upgraded environment for any issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Tune the WebLogic server configurations as needed to optimize performance.
Requirement:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Oracle WebLogic Server administration and upgrades.
- Proven experience in planning and executing WebLogic upgrades.
- Strong understanding of WebLogic architecture, deployment, and administration.
- Experience with WebLogic clustering, load balancing, and high availability.
- Proficient in Java and scripting languages (e.g.WLST, Python, Shell) for automation.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL.
- Excellent problem solving skill and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
