Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics operations and compliance procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring that all company operations comply with Australian regulations, as well as maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all drivers operate in compliance with Australian regulations on heavy vehicles, including vehicle mass, maintenance, and driver fatigue, in addition to all Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Manage and maintain local compliance records and documentation for the fleet of heavy vehicles.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and communicate any updates to relevant departments.
- Train and educate employees on compliance policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve any compliance issues or violations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit reports to management on compliance status and any identified risks.
- Participate in external audits and inspections.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for all logistics operations based on local regulations.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and make recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics compliance role (preferably with an Australian client).
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in using compliance management software (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with conducting audits and investigations.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and process improvement strategies.
