Head of Technology - Leeds, West Yorkshire

Hybrid – 3 days a week onsite (central Leeds)

Salary range £70-100k (depending on background and experience)

This is a newly created leadership role designed to bring structure, alignment and long-term direction to the technology function of a fast-growing, Leeds-based MarTech business.

Technology capability currently sits across three core areas - proprietary SaaS platforms, a Solutions team and IT / Infrastructure. Each performs strongly in its own right, but they operate independently and now require unified strategic leadership.

The Head of Technology will bring these streams together under a single strategy, aligning platform performance, infrastructure resilience, automation and AI innovation to support the next phase of growth.

This is a board-facing position with genuine scope to evolve into broader VP-level responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

You will take full ownership of the companys digital environment, from SaaS platform stability through to infrastructure, security and automation.

This includes ensuring client-facing systems operate with 99.9% uptime, overseeing cloud environments (Azure / AWS), and leading internal IT and global networking capability.

You will lead the team responsible for translating complex client requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring the technology stack is robust, integrated and future-proof.

Operational scaling is a core part of the remit. While strong systems are in place, a proportion of internal processes still rely on manual workflows and workarounds. Over the next three years, you will drive increased automation, improve efficiency and strengthen utilisation across the technology teams.

You will also act as the primary lead for cybersecurity and data governance, maintaining high security standards and supporting ongoing compliance requirements, including ISO 27001-level practices.

AI is central to both the product and the companys future direction. One of the flagship platforms is built around AI and data intelligence, and the ambition to push further and faster is genuine.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond strategic awareness, someone who experiments, builds independently and applies AI in practical ways.

About You

Essential Experience

8–10+ years in technical leadership, ideally within SaaS, Cloud Infrastructure or MarTech
Proven track record managing multiple technology streams and teams simultaneously
Experience translating business vision into a technical roadmap
Strong people leadership, coaching, developing and aligning teams around shared goals
Financially literate, with experience managing budgets and commercial targets
Background in operational leadership within a technology environment

Technical Knowledge

In-depth understanding of AI, LLMs, Machine Learning and automation
Strong cloud architecture expertise (Azure and/or AWS)
API-led connectivity and systems integration
Database systems and enterprise-level IT literacy
