Wage Rate: $20/hour to $25/hour depending on education, training & experience. May grow into full time within 90 days.

We are looking for a qualified medical office assistant to help run our clinic. You will be responsible for day-to-day operation while you are scheduled, scheduling, intake and maintaining medical and staff records. You will be cross trained as a technician.

As a medical office assistant, you should demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations. Our position also requires the ability to learn and efficiently use healthcare systems such as an EHR (Electronic Health Record). You will be responsible for ensuring Technicians are trained and scheduled appropriately, patients are scheduled after verification of coverage and that both revenue and expense transactions are transmitted daily.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure steady workflows and uninterrupted service in our Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor budget and billing payments for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Order medical and office supplies.
  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures.
  • Cross train as a TMS technician as required.
  • Maintain medical and staff records using cloud-based IT systems.
  • Liaise with doctors and nurses to identify potential office service improvements and to build & maintain relations in the community.
  • Arrange cleaning staff and emergency maintenance services, as necessary.
  • Ensure EHR clinical notes are current within 24 hours.
  • Schedule appointments as necessary.
  • Provide informative material for patients and referral sources.
  • Working with the Chief Medical Officer and the Compliance Officer ensures compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and appropriate ethical standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work ethic. Dependable, consistent and timely.
  • High energy & a positive helpful attitude is necessary.
  • Communication skills and a customer FIRST service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of accounting, data & administrative processes is helpful.
  • Competent skills and experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to handle medical records professionally & discreetly.
  • Knowledge of medical issues and terminology helpful but not required.
