Automation Control Engineer

About the Opportunity:

Northwest Talent Solutions LLC, in partnership with a leading global food manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Electrical & Automation Engineer to support high-speed production operations on the second shift. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoys solving complex automation challenges that drive safety, quality, and performance.

What You'll Do:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation equipment.

• Develop and implement PLC programs (Allen-Bradley) to enhance line performance and efficiency.

• Lead system optimization projects that reduce downtime and elevate production throughput.

• Partner with maintenance and operations teams to ensure preventive maintenance is executed effectively.

• Maintain documentation and reporting on system performance, equipment reliability, and process improvements.

• Supervise and train shift electricians, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical excellence.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in automation, controls, or electrical engineering within manufacturing.

• Strong PLC programming skills (Allen-Bradley required).

• Working knowledge of HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, and industrial networking.

• Experience with SAP-PM, work orders, and asset management.

• Hands-on approach with strong analytical and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a high-performance, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb steps, and work in variable temperatures.

Preferred Education:
Bachelors or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
