Your Impact & Contributions
- Conduct research, analysis, data collection, product development, and stakeholder engagement in support of emergency management and continuous improvement projects.
- Engage with government clients to understand project requirements, scope tasks, and collaborate and execute project activities.
- Design approaches to evaluate the performance of disaster management programs through general research, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
- Develop training, policies, tools, and guidance documents related to conducting continuous improvement in emergency management.
- Use qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze emergency management data and programs.
- Design stakeholder engagement strategies, communication materials, and technical assistance in support of emergency management projects
- Synthesize analysis results into written products, data visualizations, and oral presentations.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous tasks with minimal oversight.
What You Bring to Succeed
- Relevant Masters degree and one year of relevant experience OR a relevant Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant education and experience related to emergency management, homeland security, public policy, or social science
- General understanding of emergency management principles, including the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), the National Response Framework (NRF), National Disaster Response Framework (NDRF), and other preparedness guidance documents and policies.
- Experience supporting analytical work including data collection, analysis, and data interpretation.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, product development skills, and attention-to-detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
