Schedule: Full-time | Onsite (M–F)

Build What Others Can't. Optimize What Others Won't.

Northwest Talent Solutions is partnering confidentially with a leading energy technology manufacturer undergoing continued investment in fabrication, automation, and production excellence.

This is a high-impact Senior Manufacturing Engineer role focused on sheet metal fabrication, welding, and forming operations—where your work directly improves throughput, quality, and cost across a modern manufacturing environment.

If you thrive on the floor, understand fabrication at a systems level, and know how to translate engineering into production results—this role is built for you.

What You'll Drive:

This role sits at the center of fabrication performance and process optimization, with a strong focus on:

  • Sheet metal fabrication processes: turret punching, laser cutting, press brakes, MIG welding
  • Driving throughput, uptime, and OEE improvements across fabrication assets
  • Partnering with Design Engineering to embed Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Leading cell layout design and workflow optimization for maximum efficiency
  • Supporting automation and robotics (Fanuc, ABB, robotic welding environments)
  • Managing CapEx projects from equipment selection through implementation and ramp
  • Improving tool life, fault recovery, and RCCA (root cause corrective action)
  • Driving lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, value stream optimization)
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with production, engineering, and leadership

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5–10+ years in manufacturing engineering, ideally in fabrication environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Laser cutting, turret presses, brake presses, welding
    • Fabrication OEMs (e.g., Amada, Salvagnini, Cincinnati)
  • Experience with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, ProE)
  • Proven ability to improve throughput, uptime, and process efficiency
  • Experience in high-mix / low-volume OR high-volume environments
  • Strong presence on the shop floor—this is not a desk-only role

Highly valued:

  • Robotic welding / weld engineering experience
  • Automation and controls exposure
  • Lean / Six Sigma background
  • CapEx project leadership

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Direct impact on production performance in a growing, innovative environment
  • Opportunity to own fabrication processes end-to-end
  • High visibility with engineering and operations leadership
  • Blend of hands-on engineering + strategic improvement work
  • Investment in automation, technology, and continuous improvement
