About the Opportunity

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Estimating Manager to join a highly respected construction organization with a strong reputation for preconstruction excellence, collaboration, and disciplined execution.

This role is ideal for an estimator who thrives on complex projects, detailed quantity takeoffs, scope clarity, and constructability-driven cost solutions. You will play a key role in shaping competitive bids, negotiated proposals, and value-driven estimating strategies while working closely with operations, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated projects

  • Perform quantity takeoffs directly from plans and specifications

  • Read, interpret, and outline project drawings and specifications

  • Maintain clear audit trails from estimate to estimate

  • Develop and manage trade scopes of work, responsibility matrices, and pricing strategies

  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing, bid solicitation, and evaluation

  • Partner with operations and field teams to identify more economical construction methods

  • Support self-perform estimating and understand labor productivity

  • Apply Lean construction principles to improve value and profitability

  • Participate in bid day activities, summaries, and procurement presentations

  • Deliver professional, comprehensive estimate packages at each milestone

  • Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing within the estimating team

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience

  • Strong ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

  • Experience preparing complex estimates for competitive or negotiated work

  • Proficiency with construction estimating software and Excel

  • Knowledge of means and methods, scopes of work, and subcontractor coordination

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, vendors, and field staff

Preferred Background:

  • 5+ years of total construction industry experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • Exposure to self-perform work, labor productivity, and general requirements

  • Familiarity with Lean construction principles

  • Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through execution
