A leading advanced communications and aerospace technology organization is seeking a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer to help architect the next generation of Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms and high-performance embedded systems used in mission-critical environments.
This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge digital hardware powering secure communications systems where performance, reliability, and signal integrity matter at the highest level.
If you enjoy solving complex system-level problems at the intersection of embedded processors, high-speed interfaces, and RF architectures, this role offers deep technical ownership across the full hardware lifecycle—from concept through field deployment.
What You'll Be Building:
You will help design and deliver high-performance embedded digital hardware supporting next-generation communication platforms.
Key focus areas include:
Embedded microprocessor integration (ARM architectures)
High-speed digital interfaces including DDR, Ethernet, and USB
Advanced PCB design and architecture for complex high-speed systems
Signal integrity and simulation analysis
Hardware verification and validation of mission-critical systems
Integration with RF and SDR communication architectures
You will collaborate with systems, RF, firmware, and software teams to ensure hardware performance meets demanding real-world operational requirements.
Tools & Technologies:
Engineers in this environment regularly work with:
LTSpice
HyperLynx
MATLAB
Mentor VX / DxDesigner
Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
Boundary Scan / JTAG tools
Experience with SDR architectures, embedded software, Python, VHDL, or Agile PLM is highly valued.
Ideal Background:
You may be a strong fit if you have:
6+ years of digital hardware design experience
Experience integrating embedded processors and high-speed interfaces
Proven ability to lead complex PCB design and architecture
Experience performing hardware verification, testing, and signal integrity analysis
Background in aerospace, defense, communications, or high-reliability electronics
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
