IT Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network Security Engineer to join our client's growing team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure, ensuring its security, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices and applications.
• Monitor network performance and identify and resolve network issues.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
• Collaborate with other IT teams on network-related projects and initiatives.
• Stay current on the latest network technologies and security best practices.
• Provide technical support to end-users.
• Participate in on-call rotation for network support.
• Document network configurations and procedures.

What you will do:

• Monitor network performance and identify and resolve any issues.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices.
• Implement security updates and patches.
• Work on network projects, such as upgrades and expansions.
• Collaborate with other IT teams on network-related issues.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Document network changes and procedures.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in IT Networking and Security.
• Strong hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs).
• Experience with wireless networks (Wi-Fi, WLAN).
• Experience with network security best practices and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• CCNP certification required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with network virtualization technologies (SDN, NFV).
• Experience with network security orchestration and automation (SOAR).
• CISSP, CCIE certifications.

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
