About the Role

An Assurance Manager to join our diverse and collaborative team! In this client-facing leadership position, you will work closely with our team of managers and associates to implement accounting, tax, and business planning strategies for our clients.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing client engagements to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and meets our high-quality standards, resulting in highly satisfied clients.
  • Managing files by setting project budgets, planning activities, monitoring staff progress, and reviewing projects for accuracy and completeness.
  • Addressing dynamic accounting and tax-related questions and challenges.
  • Mentoring and managing your  by example and guiding staff on engagement priorities.
  • Serving as the day-to-day client relationship manager.
  • Reviewing financial statements and tax returns for select clients.
  • Preparing submissions for the CRA.
  • Supporting the marketing of our organization to existing and potential clients as needed.

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Characteristics:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of public practice experience, with a focus on reviews and compilations for a variety of clients; audit experience is a plus
  • 1+ years of team management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of ASPE, ASNPO, and generally accepted auditing standards, along with common audit procedures and techniques
  • Ability to research and analyze financial statement and audit-related issues
  • Capacity to provide clear and concise accounting insights to clients, including on complex matters
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by small to medium-sized businesses
  • Independent, highly motivated, and a self-starter
  • Strong multitasking abilities, managing multiple clients simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a commitment to maintaining open and transparent dialogue with colleagues and clients
