Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Valuation to join their team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive key engagements, manage a growing team, and play a pivotal role in high-profile valuation and litigation support projects.


    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Engagement planning, including preparing and reviewing quotes/budgets, identifying primary and other issues, determining approach, assigning tasks to staff, etc.
    • Reviewing budgets and timelines for each engagement throughout each month.
    • Tracking file status and ensuring that progress is consistent with expectations.
    • Liaising with clients to acquire information, manage expectations, and provide progress updates.
    • Detailed review of models/schedules and reports, with a particular focus on litigation support engagements (e.g. shareholder disputes, matrimonial disputes, estate litigation, quantification of damages, etc.).
    • Communication of constructive criticism to direct reports.
    • Maintenance of Job Status List daily/weekly, and communication of file status to partners.
    • Assistance with expected monthly billings, and review of actual invoices.
    • Where necessary, update of schedules and reports, as well as other completion documents, in order to close-out files in an efficient manner.
    • Developing business proposals and presentations communicated to current and prospective clients.
    • Train and develop Associates, Junior Associates and interns.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews with Associates and Interns.
    • Meet target billable hours and engage in business development activities.
    • Continuous improvement: Critically assess internal processes and templates and recommend improvements on an ongoing basis.
    • Provide upward feedback to improve processes and communication.
    • Create and implement division Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Deliver KPI results to Managing Partners and Executive team.


    Requirements:

    • CPA and CBV designations obtained.
    • CFF or CFE designations considered assets.
    • 2-5 years of experience managing a team of professionals.
    • 4-7 years of experience in valuations and litigation support.
    • Technical skills and understanding for accounting and auditing, as well as personal and corporate taxation.
    • Expertise in financial modeling and valuation analysis.
    • Experience with matrimonial litigation, including income determinations.
    • Experience in estate litigation and/or quantification of damages, considered an asset.
    • Experience with personal injury and income capacity reports, considered an asset.
    • Advanced Excel skills (must be proficient with IF and Vlookup functions, as well as others; VBA an asset).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining very strong attention to detail.
