About the role

We are looking for junior and intermediate Electrical Project Engineers with previous experience in motor control, VFDs and PLCs within an industrial environment.

Role will be responsible to utilize extensive knowledge and experience to participate in the design in capital projects at an industrial and mining environment. Role occasionally contributes to reviewing and witnessing of testing and commissioning activities as well as troubleshooting of critical assets.

  • Role based in Northern Canada
  • 6+ month role, potentially extended indefinitely
  • 3/3 FIFO Schedule
  • Travel, living allowance and accommodations/vehicle provided by NSA
  • Start date: Immediate

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

  • Primary focus is performing engineering design of industrial electrical systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of design deliverables and scope of work document.
  • Management and coordination of multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on electrical scopes.
  • Supports commissioning of industrial electrical power systems.
  • Application, design, configuration, and commissioning of electrical equipment
  • Contribute to capital projects development including feasibility studies, project scope definitions, capital cost estimates, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
  • Assists with trouble shooting of electrical power distribution systems and equipment
  • Coordinates engineering activities for the defined area of responsibility for the full project life cycle;
  • Performing site investigations and field reviews; and
  • Preparing technical electrical specifications and in house electrical standards;

Qualifications you will need for this role

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (technicians/technologists also encouraged to apply)
  • P.Eng. Designation considered an asset
  • 2+ years of relevant design experience (new grad to intermediate)
  • English is required, French would be considered an asset
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Applicants must have an unrestricted Canadian drivers license with a clean drivers record
  • Applicants must be willing to sign a non-disclosure form
  • Completion of a background check and medical assessment satisfactory to the Client may be required

Please note that you will be required to work in an industrial environment. This may include working at heights, dirty/dusty and noisy environments, and confined spaces. All personal protective equipment and site-specific training will be provided.
